Amara began studying women's dances of the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey in the early 90's when she was looking for something to do for exercise that didn't involve going to the gym. After an 11&1/2 year hiatus from Middle Eastern dance to study salsa and AfroCuban dance, Amara decided to resume her earlier passion with Lindsey's sword class. She thanks Lindsey for the opportunity to share the gift of dance.
