Service Description
Have you always wanted to try belly dance? This is the perfect place to start! Whether you've always been curious about belly dance or you're simply ready to try something new, this class is the perfect place to begin. Lindsey will introduce you to the beautiful art of Raqs Sharqi belly dance in a supportive, encouraging environment. Together we'll build a strong foundation by learning essential movements, proper technique, posture, and body mechanics. We'll also explore the rich history and cultural roots of belly dance, develop musicality so you can better connect with the music, and discover the artistry behind this timeless dance form. As the session progresses, we'll bring everything together by learning a fun, beginner-friendly choreography that celebrates the techniques you've learned. Students will have the opportunity to perform the piece at our Winter Showcase on December 5. Performing is completely optional, but it's a wonderful way to celebrate your progress and share your accomplishments with family and friends. No dance experience is necessary, just come with an open mind and a willingness to have fun! You'll leave each class feeling stronger, more confident, and inspired to keep dancing.
